We want to increase sport and physical activity in our neighbourhood with a view to local people making exercise part of their everyday life. Over the last few months we have organised a number of activities in Rotherham for people to try.
Self Defence– To support women’s safety, we have organised self-defence classes for women and girls delivered by female staff. The women are taught how to avoid and de-escalate threatening situations, escape grabs, holds, and confrontations, basic strikes, and defensive moves.
Badminton sessions– We have been delivering badminton sessions for young women at Rotherham Leisure Centre on Saturday afternoons.
Walk leaders- As part of our vision for an active neighbourhood we have trained walk leaders through the Ramblers Association to support local walks.
