The University of Sheffield commissioned Steel City Community Consultation to assess the co-production aspect of the ‘Ethnicity and Unequal Ageing’ project, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The project aimed to enhance the understanding of ageing and to explore how experiences related to inclusion vary across the life course for individuals belonging to different ethnic groups. 

The project collaborated with a number of organisations and individuals with whom Steel City held focus groups and discussions. The results of the reflection and insight sessions are compiled in the report presented below.

As a result of this work with the University of Sheffield, the university will be presenting the learning at MISCOE 2026 conference in summer 2026.
