In June 2025 we were thrilled to launch our latest report: South Asian Women’s Experience of Menopause.

Last year we received funding from Working Together in Research via NHS England, which allowed us to undertake research on South Asian Women’s Experience of Menopause. We held four focus groups with 22 Rotherham women taking part.
The final report was launched at the dissemination event attended by South Yorkshire Community Foundation, Diversecity, NHS Rotherham CCG, Rotherham United Community Trust, and the research participants in Rotherham, June 2025.
One of the research participants said: “This report reflected our experiences with our husbands and male relatives.”
Another commented: “It was good to be part of this research, as often no one asks us about our health issues and our struggles. Our opinions and views don’t get heard.”
Tahira Mahmood, another further participant reflected: “This was by far the best Menopause workshop I have attended as it focused entirely on us and what we were going through, we were asked how we were and that made all the difference.”
You can read and download the full report below. If you are interested in finding out more about this report and our work, please do get in touch.
Working Together in Research is managed by the South Yorkshire Innovation Hub, Diversecity, South Yorkshire ICB, and South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation. The funding is to develop better working practises between researchers and local community groups to address embedded health inequalities and services.
