On Sunday, May 11th, we commemorated VE Day at the Masbrough Sea Cadet Building, bringing both the older and younger generation together. Our youth group, Big Sisterz dedicated several weeks to organising the event, creating bunting, pom-poms, and invitation cards during their craft sessions.

On the morning of the event, the girls baked and decorated cakes. In the afternoon, 37 local older people attended, with 15 youth group members hosting the event, along with some of their mothers who came to support the VE celebration. The gathering featured music, a VE Day quiz, lots of tea drinking and cakes and an opportunity for conversations and a lot of laughter.
